The Great LiveJournal During the outage I thought about those poor dudes working so hard to give up back our LJ. Brought to you by geek-foo |
Fighter practice tomorrow, but only homework today. :-(
I spent all this time creating my queries in MS Access with the crummy wizards and query design tool, only to discover that you can click a little icon and WRITE SQL INSTEAD!!! I was at once so pleased that I would never have to use the query designer, and so horrified that I never needed to before.
I challenged my coworkers... If you are forced to use only MS Access or SQL Server for your databases, for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Not a lot of good answers. Myself, I think I'd just give up IT. My classmates haven't really come up with any good excuses why Access is 100 times faster than SQL Server; one of them had this lame justification blaming it on Ethernet, but I'm not buying it.
