Irked

Yesterday, I did some stuff. I replaced the upstairs shower head with two fancy new ones, and I replaced the shower curtain. I washed the dog. I fixed the busted rivet in my helmet (still the most annoying thing to work on I own), then I replaced all of the busted rivets (5) in my gauntlets. Then I glued the gauntlets, I will have to check them to see how it took. I also completely disassembled my leg harness, and replaced the rivets on the right side (which were on the verge of failure) and glued the ABS on the left side back together. We'll see how that works out. If it's even remotely okay, I will try and rivet the left side back together and reassembled everything.

The greaves are looking more tempting every day.

Then there was a quick trip to the grocery store and the beer store. I think remodeling generally calls for beer, and I never seem to be able to get to the store when they're still allowed by the nanny state to sell beer. After that, there was class (Evidence), and helping [livejournal.com profile] kuzu_no_ha finish up the peach honey and peach butter projects.

Today is not off to a great start. The dumpster is supposed to be delivered today, so I got up early to move all three cars out of the way. Apparently, none of the neighbors have to work today, so they have three cars left in their driveway (out of five total). This should complicate getting the dumpster delivered somewhat, so I worked on removing the A/C unit from the window downstairs. That will provide about another 14-16" of clearance in the driveway. Unfortuantely, the window unit resisted, resulting in damage to the window sill, [livejournal.com profile] kuzu_no_ha's fingers, the door frame to the guest room, and a couple gallons of water on the floor in the office and guestroom. Also, I caused minor damage to at least too distinct portions of the A/C (non-functional).

Then, I needed to do a load of laundry to wash the blanket used to protect the floor (now sopping wet) and I discovered that the clothes in the washer will need to be rewashed. Somewhere in there I did the shredding and discovered that my paycheck is short $1200. I've called my boss' work phone and cell and left messages.

Left to do: Assembled firewood rack, stack firewood, put gas in the car, finish my armor, read 100 pages of casebooks, and remodel the bathroom.

The switchover to Vonage is complete. The phone number switched yesterday (about 6 hours before the VOIP device arrived), but worked fine once installed. AT&T switched my DSL from the old line to the new one this AM, but now there is no dial tone on the new line. Since I don't need it right now, to heck with it.
