So, I just spent about an hour and half learning about shaving with safety razors and straight razors. I browsed discussion groups, sales literature, YouTube videos, and the works.

I'm not sure that I want to jump right into shaving with a straight razor, but I'm definitely going to try switching to wet shaving sometime soon, once I get all the junk together. I've been using the cheapest disposable razors I could find, because the fancy cartridge razor I used to use was discontinued. I'm not willing to use any of the new 4-5 blade monstrosities, nor in paying the horrific prices for the blades.

I like the idea of a straight razor that I never have to replace, but I also have to accept that my sharpening skills would need a lot of work. I think getting a safety razor and paying 25-50 cents a blade forever seems like a good middle ground.

I still can't believe I spent that much time learning about shaving, though. Wacky.
