Today, build-it-again day
Aug. 3rd, 2001 04:37 pmSo, I'm trying to get Carneige-Mellon's imapd set up on my machine. Seems easy enough:
Download cyrus-sasl, openssl, and db.
Compile db, openssl, cyrus-sasl, then cyrus-imapd.
Configure cyrus-imapd.
Enjoy!
Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that easily.
(of course)
After spending something like 5 hours on it, I discover that
because my perl was compiled with Sun's cc compiler, it doesn't like shared libraries compiled with gcc.
So I have to build db and cyrus-sasl all over again.
On the high-side, maybe it will actually work when I'm done.
