Letter to the President
Mar. 9th, 2003 10:39 amAfter reading the news reports this morning, I decided that it was time to "weigh in" on the whole Iraq situation.
I wrote the following letter to the President this morning, it will probably only get read as far as "I fully support" and get a hash mark in the "Ayes" column.
(shrug)
President Bush,
I fully support your efforts in Iraq to continue the war on terror. I
believe that we should move ahead as soon as possible to neutralize the
threat that Saddam Hussein poses to our national security.
I understand that it is politically advantageous to seek the UN's approval
of the upcoming military moves. However, I am troubled by the continuing
reports from Hans Blix and our own intelligence sources that Iraq
possesses weapons of mass destruction and could possibly deliver some of
these weapons against American populations.
I am dissastified with the policies of the United Nations towards the
United States and our citizens worldwide. The anti-American fervor that
has seized the world body is a sure sign that we must maintain our
independence of unilateral action against external threats.
I appreciate your time, and I wish you the best.
