Well, I unstuck [livejournal.com profile] zohra's car today. It's been snowed in since Saturday, I think. I took about an hour worth of shoveling, half a bag of sand, and a lot of pushing. Finally, with her pulsing it in reverse, and me rocking it from the front, it came loose.

Definitely, rear-wheel drive in northern latitudes is a bad idea.

In any case, it's fine now, and I heard that York County received a delivery of salt today, so they can actually melt some of the ice on the roads. I can't believe how poorly the roads crews responded. I don't blame the folks doing it, I blame the politicians for underfunding the whole program and basically tying their hands. Besides, the county is doing a perfect job compared to my landlord.

Work was okay today, but nothing great. Pretty much the typical stuff.

I made quite a few calls about the truck today. I made an appointment to get the chip in the windshield repaired; for $50 it seems like a good plan. I'm going to try and get a body shop Friday or over the weekend for an estimate to fix the dent in the side. I'm not too likely to fix it, but it will strengthen my bargaining position when I sell it. It's in pretty good shape aside from those two issues, so hopefully I'll be able to get what I owe on it. Luckily, I found out today that I owe less than I thought, every bit helps.

I'll miss my truck, it's been good to me. However, I can buy another one someday, and I think this option is preferable to bankruptcy, which is where this consistent and slow bleeding is leading. Getting my dad's truck from Florida will save me $200 in February alone, and probably close to $1000/month after that. You just can't argue with numbers like that.
