Mar. 6th, 2005 02:16 pmI'm closing in on the end of another UoP class, so hopefully I'll get a week off for the first time in ten weeks. This class has been easy, since it is just SQL for mega-dummies. My next class is "Network Telecommunication Concepts". I can't see how we can apply that type of stuff during our coursework, so it will probably be a bunch of papers to write. However, I am getting towards the end. I have the two networking classes, two OS classes, two web programming classes, and two "elective" classes, and I think I'm done. Depending on how things goes, I might double up on two classes this summer, which would move up my graduation date by about three months.
Work was really something this week. I got a great deal done, but there are some nasty politics brewing. A reorganization is coming down the pipe that is unpleasant enough to drive many of my coworkers away to other jobs, in addition to the two that have been planning on leaving in the near future anyway. If this reorg goes as poorly as I expect, I'll be surprised if the team is still there two years from now. I think it will make it for a year without too many problems, but after that, I'm not so sure.
I went shopping for clothes yesterday, which I hate. However, I did get some nice new pants and shirts. Since all of my work pants died last week, I just couldn't put it off any longer. I wouldn't mind so much, I suppose, if it was easier to find clothes that fit, and if they didn't cost so much money. Ah well.

zohra and I watched three movies on Friday night, and binged on popcorn and Kool-Aid. We watched Napoleon Dynamite (way funny, cult movie), The Village (scary -> funny), and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (action -> funny). I would recommend all three. Yesterday we watched the new Mary Poppins DVD. I forgot how long that movie was, but the enhanced sound is really something.
Today is "get caught up before the next week hits" day. I need to fixzohra's broken boot, and look at fixing her bag. I did my homework, but need to finish cleaning the house. I put gas in her car and took back the movies, but I need to put gas in my car... etc etc etc
I hope this week is less draining that the last.
