Jan. 2nd, 2006

Monday morning. It's not yet 8:00 AM, and here I sit at work.

Drive was the best it has ever been. It looks like most of Thomson has the day off too, so there is pretty much no one here. Should make for an exciting day, I'm sure.

I'm tired of moving now. I finally got all the junk out of PA, and the keys turned in. Unfortunately, some of it is still in my truck (it's all big and heavy and needs to go downstairs), but we managed to get the dishes and movies unpacked, and I did laundry in the new house. It's starting to seem like a place where I can live.

Apparently [livejournal.com profile] zohra defines civilization as the presence of towel bars; personally, for me it is glasses in the cupboard and Internet access. I hope to install the new towel bars upstairs tonight, now that all the tools are up here. The only other thing competing for time is my homework. I have a paper due tonight that just needs a little proofing, but I'm behind on participation and team assignments. Uck.

We have to go over to the DMV tomorrow, and start the ball rolling on getting the registrations updated. Luckily, [livejournal.com profile] zohra's car is probably new enough that it won't need an emissions inspection, but mine certainly will. Just another hassle brought to you by state government. The emissions inspections are annoying, but CT is better than PA: safety and emissions inspections.

Well, perhaps I will get some work done, after I look for munchies.
What do you require from your environment before you identify it as "civilized"?

For me it is:

  • Internet Access
  • Hot water
  • Clean drinking glasses
