No excuse to be up right now really, except the fabulous company of my friends.

The opera was pretty good, but the venue leaves a lot to be desired. The soprano was crap, and the mezzo was just so-so, but Despina was damn good as were most of the men. My biggest complaint is that the seats were stupid small and it was far too warm. I was folded up into a origami-like structure, and my legs aren't that long. Poor Tanya-mitten just about died of heatstroke halfway through Act II.

Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] osgkar for the DVDs. It was nice seeing you, even briefly. I think [livejournal.com profile] master_mr really helped with the hand, but I still think it wouldn't be a bad idea to borrow one of your center-grip shields for practice next week (assuming that I can find my other hockey glove).

Okay, time to crash now.
You just can't blame other people for failings in yourself. You can try, but that big bag of self-pity will eventually whip around and hit you in the head.
