sorrowmonkeyI'm trying to finish out this class. This is the last week, and our team assignments are due Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Since my team didn't do jack (including me) for the last four weeks, we have to do it all this weekend. Hurray for the self-inflicted pain of procrastination.
I practiced my trumpet again last night, much to the chagrin of our neighbors, I suspect. I've basically figured out the bulk of music we have so far for Orchestra, and I'm starting to sound a little less like an elementary school student now when I play. I keep finding myself enjoying the etudes in Arban, although they are frequently punctuated with comments like "wow, he's *such* an asshole! that was cool".
I'm playing through Marathon again, this time with the M1A1 conversion to Aleph One. I'd like to try Halo, but not enough to buy an X-box. I think Microsoft has already weedled too much money out of me. I'm really tempted to send off for the new Army game, the ad for it is awesome, and I'm not 30 yet... ;-)
Bought a new couch at IKEA yesterday. That store is something really special. It's just so unlike any American store, so it's really a different experience. They have a lot of nice stuff, mostly clever ways of putting stuff together, and a bunch of crap. There were far too many people, but I'm not sure it would be so bad on any day besides Saturday. We also bunch a bunch of Swedish pop, jams, and Glogg. The pop was good; it was very light. It took me about twenty minutes to put the couch together, I had to attach legs and put on the slipcover. The slipcover is just amazing, and the directions had me rolling on the floor laughing. I threw them out, but now I wish I had kept them.
