Not much to say, but I've wanted to post anyhow.

I'm tired. I really love Pennsic, but I hate that push to get every project completed and every item packed in the week before. I'm not a big procrastinator, but with as many once-a-year things as I have to do before Pennsic, I inevitably forgot about twenty things that I will end up having to do the night before we leave.

Work is boring. The politics is typical, but not too shrill; however it stands in the way of getting anything done. Two-thirds of the management team is out of the office, so no decisions can be made. Most of my coworkers are chugging along with their projects, but I had the nasty luck of completing almost all of the technical work on mine back in June. The only technical problem I have to work on involves a bug in some third-party code we've bought, and I have to redo everything backwards to work around it. Needless to say, it is hard to stay motivated about that.

I had a good time at Julie's birthday party. I miss my old work friends, Charlie, Seth, and Eva. I guess Eva's back in the country now, although I haven't found anyone who has actually talked to her. I am very happy for her, but a lot of the fun at our workplace left with her. Tim's not a bad neighbor in cube-land, but he's not as amusing as Eva was.

I can't wait to get out of Pennsylvania: there is a high contamination of low-level stupid here.
