Open letter to my coworkers
Jan. 23rd, 2006 01:19 pmDear Sirs,
I realize that you only entered the information technology field to support your moronic spending habits, but I really think it would be appropriate for you to show up for work on all of the days when you are scheduled. Obvious, major illness is an acceptable excuse, but only if you report the time as sick time. Severe mental illness cannot be used as an excuse, however, unless you can show that you are currently seeking treatment.
It has come to my attention that you have a musical performance engagement this evening at the hotel where you are staying. However, you have not showed up for work yet today. I would like to point out that it is completely unacceptable to bill the company for a full day of work when you spent the entire day in transit for your extracurricular affairs. I assume that your invoices will reflect this.
Also, it would be helpful if you actually worked while you were here in the office. Surfing the Internet is certainly necessary for research, but a certain amount of effort should be applied towards the stated goals of the project. Leaving the rest of us here to do all of your work, and nagging us about the progress as well is a certain method to irritate us and vex the customer as well.
Nathan
