So, the drive in this morning was fairly special. I decided to drive rather than take the train because I was running late, and because I'm going to be here fairly late tonight because of a business dinner. Unfortunately, some idiots had an accident in Norwalk and they had two lanes closed. In the end it took me almost exactly two hours to drive 35 miles. Not a good morning.

Work is mega-boring today, although I've already achieved more than I did all day yesterday. I have a few repetitive tasks that I'm doing, and as slowly as possible, since I'd probably going to be here twiddling my thumbs on and off until June. The most irritating part is that there is a lot of confusion about it all. I was under the impression that I was going to training for a week starting 4/17, now they are saying 5/17, then sometime in June. There are like two other customers that they are talking about sending me too, and basically, it just looks like a big mess.

I'm really excited about going to Italy, but starting to get a bit anxious. I'm so afraid that I'm going to forget something. Still, it's not the end of the world. If I can get through ten days at Pennsic, I should be able to handle ten days in Italy, no matter what I forget. We'll see. In any case, I expect to have a great time: this will be my first international trip ever (aside from Canada).

I've put off the preventative maintenance on the Nissan about as long as I really can. I think once we get back from Italy, I really need to:

  • Change the spark plugs/wires
  • Change the oil
  • Check/replace the belts
  • Change the manual transmission/differential fluids (it's been 150k miles, after all)
  • Replace the brake pads
  • Check/replace rear tires
The irony is, since the back is torn up and it leaks oil from at least one seal/gasket, how much of this is really worth doing? Ah well.

I guess I'll feign work some more.
