And now, weekend update, with our own...

Very busy this weekend, overall.

I had a fabulous time shopping on Saturday with zohra and parsedgarnish, followed by Hum Apke Hain Kaun. My addiction to Bollywood is complete. I just love it in a 1960's beach party movie sort of way. The scary part is how much of my cousins' behavior is reflected in these movies. My cousin Ravi, for example, is the stereotypical second son, the tolerated trickster.

Today was "finish up the shopping" day. We visted Walgreen's, Pet Supplies Plus, and Stop 'n Shop to get the last of the stuff we need before our vacation. We even finished the bulk of the packing. I'm pretty excited at this point.

I also finished all of the obligatory calls into my family. I called Brad (my sane uncle) yesterday, and we talked for nearly two hours about law school, and life in general. I also talked to my grandmother who seems to be doing fairly well, and my dad, who has done a complete turnaround on the law school idea. In any case, at this point, basically everyone I care about knows, so I'm pretty much stuck going at this point.

Just for the record, future Hindi movie selections will include first
Devdas & later Dosti. I'm not sure beyond that. There are some 'serious' not-quite-so fairytale Hindi movies, but I'm not terribly interested in those yet.

I like the *goofy* ones. :D

Just gonna slurp this music onto my iPod before bed time... Dhiktana, Dhiktana, dhiktana...

We like goofy happy. I have seen the other kinds. they are good but you really have to be in the mood for them. But really there is still something comical about a terribly dramatic painful moment cut in two by a chipper song and dance scene.
