Apr. 20th, 2006 01:35 pmI'm thinking, "wow, that timing sucks." The big issue is that our quarterly bonuses are due on Apr 30, and I'm basically broke until then. That makes scheduling a business trip (buying airline tickets, reserving a hotel, and maybe renting a car) a bit tricky. Then, to make matters worse, the first reservation I make is wrong by 12 hours.
So, I call Travelocity and get that canceled, but I lose five bucks in fees, and it will be 7-14 days before they refund my credit card. Fantastic!
So I try Expedia, and the ticket prices are horrific for morning flights, to the tune of $1300. So, I call my boss and he says he paid $600 for the same tickets. So, I spent lunchtime watching the prices rise. I almost booked tickets for Sunday evening, but they went from $245 to $549 while I was picking seats. Gotta love that. I called my boss back and told him that Monday was just not going to work. Now, I'm leaving around lunchtime on Monday.
Not fun.
So, now that I have all of that crap settled, I can start calling electricians for
zohra's new kiln. Should be fun.

Date: 2006-04-21 06:35 am (UTC)i hate travelocity. sabre. nasty. greedy. grubby.
minneapolis. jeez. inside the two week window? yuck. northwest is playing games there. slowing down operations and convincing the city council that there isn't much demand so that much needed airport renovations won't be done and competitors can't move in and steal their lunch.
