Sep. 30th, 2006 11:43 pmSo, Scott and Erica are married now. The ceremony went very well: it was sunny, slightly breezy, but basically comfortable. The only complications that I know about are that one of Scott's cuff links exploded while he was putting them on, and one of the buttons popped right off my jacket during the ceremony. All in all, that's not too bad.
I had many nice conversations with various old friends and acquaintances, and my best man speech was a big hit. The maid of honor gave a speech after mine which was far better, but everyone seemed pleased enough, which is all I can ask for. I hope to stay in contact with some of them, not necessarily all the time, but at least a little. It's not fair to keep expecting Scott to maintain all the contacts with our old friends.
I'm going to get up about 7:30, and hope to get on the road around 8:30 or so, but that is subject to a lot of variables. I need to hand off my tux to one of the Boston residents, and I still have Scott's car keys. I know that Scott is threatening to sleep in, so I'm going to have to figure out a way to hand that stuff off safely if I want to get on my way home at a reasonable time.
Congratulations to Mistress Mahin, and Sir da Bruce!
