Still looking for work.

I waded through bureaucracy this week. I finally got my Pennsylvania drivers license, insurance, and license plates. I applied for concealed weapons permits, which I hear are like candy here. I changed my address information with all sorts of people.

It was cool.

I'm working with Darius a lot on perfecting my basic swordwork on the pell, and a lot of style and stance changes as well. My onside snaps are very good now, I need to work on the offside snap, which is still bad. After a week or two of working on that, I hope to start on wrap shots.

Fighter practice on Thursday was an experience; I was using both my new stance and my new helmet for the first time in real combat. My offensive is greatly improved, but I need to learn to compensate for the loss of the defensive advantage from my old stance.

I had to cope with a number of comments about how I should be doing things differently. "Everybody who is good fights *this* way" and such things. I resisted the intense urge to scream back "Except the person who just won crown tourney and is NOW PRINCE" Kudos to me for not offending members of the chivalry, or at least, any more than they made for themselves by letting an inexperienced newbie like me hit them.

My new helmet is awesome.
