Not a thing has changed as regard my job search. I did an interview, and I haven't heard anything from them. I was supposed to have two more interviews, but no word from them. Another boatload of security clearance jobs, but sorry, tough luck if you don't have one; I can't understand how anyone every got it the first time.
The phone is out. They cut the line to the house with the front-load lifter while digging the basement next door. I'm not even mad at them, it's Verizon's fault. There is no reason that my phone wire should run across the basement of the house next door. The machine operator was really afraid I was going to bitch him out, the relief on his face when I didn't was refreshing.
I'm going to finish my degree if it kills me, which it might. I can't stand this situation, so many jobs that require degrees. I'm looking at Harrisburg Community College (I could get an associates quick, and fix my GPA), or U of Phoenix - Online, where I might be able to beat out the rest of my BS in 18 months. Either way, this shit has got to stop.
My life really is close to a living nightmare right now, particularly the cyclical job application process. I went to a "job fair" today that was really just a front for a local temp agency. When I filled out my application, and showed them my resume, they were like "Whoa! Can't help you! You could talk to our executive recruiter."
Yeah, like executive recruiters talk to people with no degree. I'm just screwed.
I'm not dreaming about falling yet, but I fell like I'm falling while sitting in this chair. Perhaps I'm getting sick.
At least the war is going well. Blessings to all of our soldiers!
