Orchestra was so-so. Ivan didn't send along the 1st trumpet music, so I was forced to play 2nd trumpet with no first (odd). We only played the Bizet piece, which has very limited trumpet bits, anyhow. I spent most of the rehearsal trying to keep the trumpet warm and vaguely in tune. Then, when I finally got to the part where I have a good bit to play, I missed the entrance (thanks for the cue, Mel!) and ended up sitting there trying to find where we were for the rest of the piece.

Almost more depressing that that colossal screw-up is that he didn't even say a word about it. Either he didn't even notice, he just doesn't care, or worse still, he expects that from me.

In another "murder-death-kill" experience, I found out that I don't get a week off before my next class after all. I'm going to have to start it on this Thursday, because they are moving to a new scheduling system. They were even kind enough to send me an email about is on Sunday. Ah well. I think I would feel better about it if I could take a week to detox from MS Access overdose before having to tackle the rampaging idiocy of MS SQL Server.

I'm sorry that the last few posts having been so much whining, it's just been that kind of week.
