Orchestra went well today (for me, anyway). I barely missed any entrances, and I managed to get copies of the 1st Trumpet part. Ivan is going to be away for the next two weeks, so I felt pretty justified in demanding copies of the music. It turns out that Mel had it, but he forgot, so he had to dig through all of his pile o'junk to find it.
I can't believe how much time we spent today watching the strings "get their bowing together". Perhaps they should have the winds report an hour late, so that the strings can spend that hour practicing their bow-work. I really need to buy a new 3C mouthpiece. The 7C is in good shape, although I still need to figure out why it won't stay in (sandpaper?). However, the 3C is like 15 years old, and it has been abused long enough.
