Old Microwave and Hood
Old Microwave and Hood
The microwave we've had for a long time, but at some point the LCD quit working. More importantly it was sucking up valuable counter space in a kitchen that doesn't have much. The hood was missing the grease filter, but more importantly, the fan didn't work. Ironically, it would have taken less than five minutes to fix the fan, but I never bothered taking it apart when it was up there: there was just a wire missing to the fan switch. Duh.

This was today's project. I'm not sure how long the manual said it should take, but it took me about 3.5 hours, I think. That includes the time to remove the old one and move the electrical, run to Lowe's for a single outlet box (out), then install the outlet. Zohra helped in the final installation: one-man installation would have been possible, but tricky.

Mom made shake-n-bake, and ahhh helped!

Nice! The buttons are being weird on mine, push the 0 and it does a 2 & things like that, and I was thinking of replacing it. What brand did you get.

We got the GE Profile Microwave/Convection oven. The combination convection oven costs a little bit more than a standard over the range microwave, but we're looking forward to cooking stuff in half the time.

Zohra grew up in a house with two ovens, so this will be a big help on that front as well. It's nice to be able to roast a turkey and bake a cake at the very same time.

We've already used the microwave function, but I can't wait to try out the convection oven. It even came with recipes!

yeah it is pretty awesome.
Also it takes less energy to use and creates less heat which is ideal in a house without central air.
The other reason we went ahead with this appliance, is that it adds to selling point of the house.
We got it at Lowes btw.
It's 200 dollars cheaper there than anywhere else.

I'm thinkling that it could be useful in the woman's basement work shop during firings or other prosesses that want venting.
just a thought and it can be reworked to vent out the celler window.
