Well, I got a job offer from the place I used to work in Maryland for darn near twice the money that I made there before. I'm a little nervous at the prospect of the long commute again, but things haven't been that great where I am now, and it's hard (read: impossible) to walk away from that kind of money.

Things seem to be going really well for them. They just got bought by a huge company, and they expect to grow quite a bit as a result. The new job would be a spiffy title, I'd get a lot of perks, and just generally a lot more respect and status then I had before.

Apparently, the folks there that were listed as references called up the HR person when they got called from one of the other places I applied. It's ironic that it happened, because the more I thought about it, the better the idea seemed. It might not be the best job I'll ever have (I think C&W wins this category), but I think I did a fine job of negotiating and it could be a lot worse.
