Jun. 14th, 2005 09:56 pmLet me s'plain... No, there's too much. Let me sum up...
I had a good time on Saturday at Barren Sands, but it was in spite of many opportunities for it to be otherwise. I got up before dawn to meet Mor and Connor so that we could drive together. They were pleasantly horrified that I arrived on time, but as a result I got to meet their cute dogs. We got there at about 11 AM, and there was virtually no one else there. When the fighting finally did start (I think it was around 1:30PM), it was Wulfgar's and Magnus' guys against the rest of the knowne worlde. I did fairly well in the field battles, and I performed my role (shieldman, protect the spears) with distinction (I think, anyway) during the Hadrian's wall battle. Unfortunately, by this point, I was desparately overheated and my left knee was making disturbing wobbles. I sat out the bridge battles (mostly Brecht postulating about his most recent theory of bridges), and the unbelted fighting. I picked up some honey from a merchant for
zohra, and talked a bit with Meredith and Warren. Melinda and John seem well enough, but I'd never seen him with hair before: strange.
Sunday my uncle Brad stopped here on his way to D.C. He wanted some help with some Microsoft software he's been fighting with, and he thought it would be nice to see us here in PA before we leave. Not too much exciting, just catching up the family gossip.
We went swimming yesterday and today over at Diane and Charlie's house. It's been so long since I was swimming that I didn't really want to leave yesterday. Diane, Charlie, and Julie (their daughter) are so fun anyway. Add Eva into the mix, since she's been staying with them and you have a constant source of entertainment. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll see Eva very often after she is married this weekend. She and Nick will be great together, and I am very happy for them both; however, things are going to be very dull at my workplace for the foreseeable future. I hope we continue visiting Diane and Charlie, they are good people and I enjoy their company.
My dad is supposed to be in town for dinner tomorrow. We'll see how that goes, I guess.
