Another boring day at work; it seems like every project I'm working on requires someone who is out on vacation. I've been trying to read up on documentation and work on some new skills, but I'm having a real motivation problem. On the high side, the major server migration we did over the holiday weekend is working well.

Went to fighter practice tonight. New armor is still working out well, although it keeps biting me in one spot. I'm going to check it over for a sharp spot there, and see if it's a pinching problem. Probably nothing a little tape or foam can do. I need to pick up some contact cement for the helmet padding though, the rubber cement we got from Dick's shop is more thinner than anything.

I did really poorly at practice. I think it's probably just because I haven't been fighting 1x1 enough, but it was really demoralizing. After Wulfgar's guys started switching over to their spear drilling, I decided to come home and do some aerobic and anaerobic exercise to help compensate for my general state of suck. Being in shape might not help my technique, but probably the endless panting doesn't help my performance at all either.

I think I'm learning some bad habits from the pell -> more live practice.

School is still icky; one of my teammates has returned from the dead, but I haven't heard anything from the other. Grr.

Well, I would very much like to get started on pole arm. The thing that amazes me about sword and shield is how much trouble I have with other shieldman. I've found a bunch of stuff that works great against polearms, great weapons, and Florentine, but can't seem to get the hang of killing shieldman.

So much of the shield game is getting your opponent out of position, and unfortunately, I seem to always be the one out of position. Drat. I think my arm got taken six times in practice, and there is just no reason why that should be happening: it just shows I'm being sloppy.
