So it occurred to me yesterday what I don't like about getting paid monthly. When you get paid monthly, it is trivial to do your budgets and see what the current state of your cash flow is, and it's generally convenient.
However, when you get paid weekly or biweekly, you get this regular reminder of why you get up in the morning. On the monthly schedule, it's more like "Holy cow! I won the Lotto!" followed shortly by "Why am I so poor?" after you pay your bills. Shortly thereafter it is, "Why do I do this, again?"
Ah well. Going to miss
zohra for the next two weeks, but it will be two weeks closer to us being together again all the time. I'd like to thank all of our friends, yet again, for making this as painless as possible. I love you guys, and it's really not just the fatigue talking. This whole process could have been significantly more unpleasant than it is, and I have all of you to thank for it.

Date: 2005-10-24 11:34 am (UTC)I'm dealing with the new method at my work, bi-monthly. Seems harmless. But when your used ot being paid ebery over Thursday, it's totally wierd. You get paid about every 2.26 weeks or such. So I get paid Tuesday, then wait two weeks and it's pay week but on Thursday. And wait two weeks and it's pay week but on Monday hooray! Wait two weks and it's pay week on, wait - surprise - Next Monday! You wn its a 3 week gap this time! watch calender you dummy.
It's so simple, but the pattern doesn't fit in my brain somehow. I've always been paid based on a 'day of the week' system, this is the 1st 'number of the month' system and my head doesn't like it.
We went from weekly to every other week to bi-monthly, so......If we keep with the pattern, I'll be monthly next.
