I woke up at what must have been about 4:30 AM, and now I can't get back to sleep.

On a lighter note, apparently the dog can't sleep either, so I'm not entirely alone. However, I let him out, and he was a real jerk about coming back in because he doesn't like the entrance into the kitchen, due to the high number of negatively connotated objects (cat feeders, primarily).

Anyhow, I got him in, finally.

The new thermostat is probably doing great things for the nation's oil use, but it's freezing me to death, so I turned it up. I think I will get the manual back out and reprogram it tomorrow.

Random list of things I'm tired of:

Driving
I drove something like thirty hours over the holiday weekend. That's almost full-time.
Pennsylvania
I can't believe I have to go back there, again. At least I'm almost done.
English/Metric
Look, I grew up with Engligh units, but this is really pretty dumb. Having to own two sets of wrenches is stupid.
Government regulated monopolies
Electric, gas, cable, telephone, and waste collection in some areas. Why did this ever seem like a good idea? Do you get good service from your electric company? How about your cable guy?
People who stop at green lights
I guess this should go under driving, but it's 5:36 AM and I don't care.

Hmmm - 5:36am - just about when I woke [livejournal.com profile] osgkar up this am. I was already dressed and getting ready to leave for work.

At least the AG is looking into the 22% rate hike from CL&P (which we use for electric). Between the price of gas and heating fuel, I don't think my budget can stand another whack for utilities...

I agree on the driving thing. I am so gonna curl up on the couch this weekend....

Luckily for me today is Friday....

Hmmm

Me too - woke up about 3:30ish and could not get back to sleep - though I did perservere after a while. I wonder what was in the air?

On Driving - just see Adhemar's rant fromt he other day - all too correct, I fear! And remember that speed limits are optional in CT and STOP signs are merly suggestions.

As for why you did it - it was for your friends - not the utilities, etc...

and thanks for that! WE DO appreciate that fact!
