I really couldn't resist this. I wonder if secret ballots are really the best way; I certainly don't like it when I can't tell how my representatives are voting, but I wonder if the citizenry would pay more attention to elections if they were directly accountable for their choices.
I can think of all sorts of good reasons why that would be a bad idea, but there are a lot of things wrong with our current system, too.
EDIT: I don't normally edit posts (except for typos) but I would like to add this: Apparently, California has bigots. Who would have thought?

I can see what your sayin, if it was known if you voted and for whom, it would increase the accountablity. But I am quite sure some companys would use it as a reason to fire or promote etc.
At least one person has been fired for having the wrong potical bumpersticker on thier car. I was stunned when i read that.
So yep, inprovment would be good, but not sure quite how yet.
