zohra and I installed a new circuit in the basement for the EnviroVent. The task involved a new outlet box, a fancy combo switch/outlet for the appliance, and about 50' of wire to the breaker box. I've learned many new things:
I want to run another circuit for the rest of
zohra's work lighting and appliances (wheel, or such things), but I need to get more wire and some strain reliefs first. I wanted to put the kiln vent on its own circuit so that nothing else could trip it.
- Drilling into rock sucks. I suspected this, but now I know.
- Pounding staples overhead is mildly irritating, but strangely enjoyable nonetheless.
- Don't forget strain-reliefs. I'll have to put them in later, and that doesn't sound like fun.
- While removing the cover for the breaker panel, pull away before pulling down. I almost lost it when I flipped off the main with the cover.
- While 15 and 20 Amp circuits don't scare me, that 200A bus in the breaker panel scares the shit out of me.
- Installing breakers really *isn't* that hard.
