Thanks to the ever-continuing idiocy of New Haven politicians, you can now create a legally recognized identity as an illegal alien for the everyday low price of $10.

That's right! Whether you want to launder some money, cheat on your taxes, hide money from your spouse, or just finance a terrorist attack you can now easily get bank accounts in whatever name you choose!

I'm really glad that our crime-ridden friends in New Haven are providing this valuable service. I'm sure between more restrictive gun-control laws and subjugation of the federal and state banking laws, we will see a safer future.

Everyone give a hand to Mayer DeStefano and the New Haven Board of Aldermen. Interestingly enough, no where in any of the new coverage does it mention the lone alderman who voted against. Personally, I'd like to shake her hand.

Anyway, I just had to see if i could dig up the text of the change to the city code on the City of New Haven web site. I did find the resolution by the financial committee to accept and disburse the money for it. It might be too soon after the passage to find the wording, but the May 17 financial committee minutes were a mildly interesting read.

From the Minutes:
No one had checked with hospitals, No one had checked with banks to see if they would take it as an ID. So I'm not sure exactly they are going to do with it yet. Sounds very (obviously) ill thought out.

It looks like their meeting minutes run about 4-6 weeks behind, not unlike the state legislatures public hearing transcripts.

My city is on the verge of bankruptcy, but at least I can point to our neighbors in New Haven and exclaim "you idiots!"

Can you get a valid CT drivers license as an illegal, or do you have to steal an identity for that? Perhaps that will be next.

I'm waiting for Congress to authorize passports for illegals, and then it's going to be a real good time. If you start building the credit history for your alias(es) now, they'll be well-established to pass background checks later.

We could create a whole new market for custom-built identities, where fake IDs are an unnecessary thing of the past. Why have a fake ID when you can get a real one with any name you like just by claiming you're an illegal?

I'm sure it's crime to lie about it, but I doubt that will be any more effective than the NYC and D.C. gun laws.

I think that would be a great name for all my medical bills to be under.
Then they can pay for her as I'm sure she hasn't got insurance or income. Hmm, I wonder if she can get welfare sinnce the poor thing is too sick to work....

Why stop at just one? The entire Vondoe family (right off the boat or under the fence) could be collecting free healthcare and all of the entitlements you're willing to do paperwork for.
